This is the last working watermill on the river Great Ouse in Cambridgeshire.
Taken on a Mamiya 330s medium format twin lens reflex tripod mounted camera fitted with a 55mm lens and opaque red filter.
Exposure was around 4 seconds at f22 onto Maco IR820c infrared film that was developed in Prescysol. Whilst nominally a still summers afternoon there was enough of a breeze to blur the clouds and move the reads during the long exposure.
The original print was made on Kentmere silver gelatin paper and gold toned to cool it.
