Prince of the Park
This picture was grabbed during late one afternoon in October in Bushy Park, Surrey. I remember that I used an Olympus OM10 fitted with a 135mm lens which, because of the rather dark conditions, was set to f2.8 giving a shutter speed of 1/30th. I cannot remember the film used except that it would have been Ilford, probably HP5. I remain rather amazed at its sharpness given the taking conditions.
The rut was in full swing and this animal had exhausted itself and just laid down in the bracken having been chased off by the alpha-male. This print represented a crop of about a third of the frame and I must have been having a love affair with sepia toning when I made it judging by the intensity of the tone.
