The result of an early morning scramble through Puzzlewood.
I used my Canon EOS 6D fitted with a EF24 – 105mm f4 lens at it’s widest setting. It was still quite dark in the wood at around 6am so to ensure detail was retained in all areas I made five exposures, using a range of shutter speeds spaced from 1/2 to 15 seconds with the camera was mounted on a tripod. Each exposure was made at ISO200 and f11. These five exposures were combined into one image using Photomatix Essentials HDR software to reduce the contrast range of the image and thereby retain detail in both highlights and shadow areas. The image was then desaturated and minor selective tone, colour, and exposure modifications completed in order to produce the image shown here.
